The original first issue of Valcan was printed in the format of an american comic with cheap but glossy paper, the first series was published in Scotland only on (1st March 1975) as a trail and ran for 30 issues until (20th Sept 1975)

With good reviews this series was relauched nationwide on (27th Sept 1975) - renumbering again from issue #1 running in total for 28 issues until (3rd April 1976)

It reprinted adventure & superhero strips from both Lion & Valiant comics and eventually was cancelled & merged with Valiant. One annual was issued in 1976 as well as a Summer Special.
